BA in Spanish MA in Hispanic Literature Certified K-6 National Board Certified Teacher
Mrs. Nophsker
My name is Chavaleh Nophsker, and I am so excited to start my second year as W.T. Griggs' Instructional Coach! Many people wonder about my unique first name, pronounced "Ha-va-la." My parents loved the musical, Fiddler on the Roof, and named me after one of the characters. It means little Eve in Hebrew.
Prior to becoming an instructional coach for Currituck County Schools, I spent 16 years as a third and fourth grade teacher at First Flight Elementary in Dare County. My first four years in the classroom were in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico as a bilingual educator.
I have a BA in Spanish from Loyola University Maryland and an MA in Hispanic Literature from the University of New Mexico. I obtained my elementary education/bilingual education license from the Santa Fe Interns Program at the University of New Mexico. In 2010, I earned my National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist and I renewed my certification in 2019.
As a teacher, I emphasized collaboration and cooperation among my students. As an instructional coach, I delight in my time in classrooms, working with teachers and students to make an impact on learning.
